It's a dog's life, all right.... mine. And I love it!

Yes, I LOVE my family and our home, and I thank the Lord for them! On this page you'll have the treat of seeing me on my home turf. At this house, I'm the big dog... the baby... the boss... you get the picture.

Here, me and big sister Lissa act like we're fighting over her car. We do sometimes fight, but we really love each other. I admit, I'm pretty jealous, and I try to keep her away from Daddy by getting between them when they sit down to watch a movie or something. I'm bad, I know it!

Whenever I go outside, I keep busy chasing squirrels and birds out of my backyard. One of my favorite indoor games is playing "keepaway" with Daddy, Mommy and Lissa. I usually get something (a sock, a toy or whatever I can get my teeth into) and protect it from being taken away. This means a lot of ferocious growling and teeth-baring, but they know I'm just playing. I tug and pull, but if they get it I bark loudly and chase after them like crazy till I get it back.

When no-one is home I stretch out on the back of the sofa next to the window and watch for them until they return. I also like to lay there and watch the traffic and people go by. If the blinds aren't open I'll pull down some with my paw and stick my head through so I can see.

I have a large vocabulary of people words I understand. Some of my favorites are "ride" and "bone." My least favorites are "bath" and "get down."

When Maw-Maw is visiting I spend a lot of time on her lap... and I always get what I want, 'cause you know what a pushover Grandma is! That's her holding me in the picture there. You can tell she thinks I'm the greatest, just look at her face!
I also love going for a ride in the car! I always stick my head out of the side window and let the wind blow through my fur. I also bark and snap at the windshield wipers. If the side window is closed I lay in the back window and look around.

One of my favorite things is watching TV! I always jump at it and bark when I see an animal on it. One of my favorite movies is "Homeward Bound." I also like "The Planet's Funniest Animals" a lot, which I watch with Daddy.

My favorite napping place is a beanbag. I climb up on it and make a place down deep in it to snuggle in. I like all kinds of food, as long as it's what everybody else is eating. I especially love chicken. Once Mommy gave me something called "Alpo" and it made me sick! It was gross. I'll bet they don't eat it. For a snack I love orange sections or potato chips. I also love Milkbones, although no-one else in the house does.

Click the bone to read my original poem about my favorite snackfood! The lady at the bank always gives me one when we go through in the car. I beg at the drive-up window until she remembers, then I get excited when the drawer comes out with the bone for me and a sucker for Lissa. Daddy gets something called money but I don't know why he wants it, you can't eat it. He just sticks it in his pocket and sits on it.

Here is a picture of me playing with a piece of cloth. I just get comfortable and chew away! This is the life.

Although I hate taking a bath, I love how I feel when I'm out and finished with blowdrying. I tear out of the bathroom and streak around the house barking madly and bouncing off the back of the couch and chairs! I race around from room to room so fast and furious that I've earned the nickname "The Canine Comet." It really makes me feel frisky!
Lately I'm something of a celebrity since I helped Daddy and Jon out on a recording they made. You see, Daddy is part of a Christian comedy team called "Prime Example." Click here to learn more about it! You can hear me pretending to be a mean dog on their skit, "The Trials of Rev. Milton Blumquist" on their Real Audio page. That was fun, going to the studio and growling and barking my lines into the microphone!

Just for your information, I'm very well house-trained. If I have to... you know, "go," I will find somebody and beg til they let me out. If there is nobody home, I'll go into the bathroom, hop in the tub, and do my "emergency business." I figured out that all by myself while stuck in there one day. (I'm smart, I know it.) It's the only place in the house I can "go" and get praised for it, instead of in trouble!

Here's my favorite dog cartoon. Click on it to view all of it on my Dogtoons page.

I'll post others in the near future!
